The following agreement of Committee 'C has received the approval of the Secretary of State (applying only to constables and sergeants from 01.09.94)

REINSTATEMENT OF CANCELLED PUBLIC HOLIDAY LEAVE

When an officer's public holiday leave is cancelled in anticipation of an operational need for which, in the event, he is not required to attend for duty:-

(a) where the officer is told with more than 7 days' notice that he will not after all be required to work on the public holiday, he will take the public holiday leave with no compensation,

(b) where the officer is given less than 8 days' notice, he can choose between taking the public holiday with no compensation, or working on the public holiday with compensation in accordance with Regulations.
