POLICE (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS - WORK ON A ROSTERED REST DAY (JCC CIRCULAR 78/1994) REGULATION 23(3)A) Where an officer receives less than 15 days' notice of the requirement to do duty on a day which is a rostered rest day, the chief constable should not require him/her to work for 4 hours where this would involve him/her working after the particular need, i.e. to attend court, had expired. REGULATION 23(3)(B) Where an officer receives 15 or more days' notice of the requirement to do duty on a day which is a rostered rest day, the rest day must be re-rostered. In these circumstances the original rest day becomes a normal working day, i.e. one of 8 hours.
