Federation Survey - Personal Data Assistant (PDA) PDF Print
Lothian and Borders Joint Branch Board of the Scottish Police Federation is committed to ensuring that any change in work practise is carried out in a way which will provide the maximum benefit not on to the Force and the officers using it but also the public we serve.

To this end we are carrying out the second phase of our ongoing work to ensure that the business benefits envisaged are being realised by front line officers using the Personal Data Assistants (PDAs) currently being issued to officers.

All officers trained in the use of the PDAs will, from 26h August 2008, receive a survey document for completion. The results of this will allow us to gather information from those most affected and ensure the use of PDAs is progressing in a way which will improve service delivery to the public and enhance the operational performance of 24/7 front line officers.

The previous survey carried out allowed the Scottish Police Federation to influence the roll out of this equipment, not only at local, but also national levels and we envisage the current survey will further assist in the development and use of this technology.

Results from the survey are expected by the end of September and will be published on this web site.
