The following advice has been received from our insurance broker in connection with the problems being faced by both British Airways and Golbespan
Globespan Our policy cover excludes "bankruptcy/liquidation of a travel operator, travel agent or transportation company" and also excludes "consequential loss of any kind". Members only hope of recompense are if they paid by credit card or there is a package (flight and accommodation) booked through an ABTA agent. There is no cover for flight costs, pre-booked car hire or accommodation. There is no cover for additional costs incurred. There is no cover for delay. British Airways Millstream have no liability where British Airways cancel the flight - members will, in these circumstances, be repaid flight costs by British Airways. Our "cancellation" cover does not include strike or industrial action". There is no cover for the costs of pre-booked car hire/pre-booked accommodation. There is no cover for additional accommodation costs incurred for members currently on holiday - although we anticipate that British Airways will make arrangements and pay for additional accommodation costs.
