Colleagues,

You will all have seen my recent notice regarding the lack of agreement surrounding on-call at the Police Negotiating Board and I have received several emails from you regarding this – firstly, thank you for taking the time to contact me with your views and, secondly, yes we will continue to fight the reluctance of the Official Side to acknowledge the unpaid work undertaken by those required to be on-call during their time off.

Whilst on the subject of the Police Negotiating Board, I hope that within the next month we will see the guidelines on Maternity Issues and Variable Shift Agreements published. Both these documents have been the result of long consultation and negotiation processes and I hope they will make these areas less complicated for both individual officers and forces.

The Annual General Meeting is scheduled for 23rd and 24th February within the Kings Manor Hotel (details have been published on the Intranet previously). If your duties permit please come along to observe and listen to the Chairmans address and Chief Constables response. If not –we will, as last year, be recording the speeches and publishing them on our website soon after! Also attending will be Councillor Whyte, Councillor Muir, Mr Allen and Mr McCormick. Your divisional representatives will have the opportunity to ask questions of the guests so please contact them with your suggestions.

Regards

Jackie Muller

Secretary JBB
